Are special accommodations provided for students with disabilities?

Are your courses approved for all types of nursing licenses?
Yes. Our courses are applicable for RNs, LPN/LVNs and advanced practice nurses.
Can I be disciplined for not having all required CE hours?
If an audit (electronic) indicates you failed to meet your CE requirements, you will be referred for possible action against your license. This process includes an opportunity for you to submit, manually or electronically, proof of your compliance with the CE requirements and thus avoid further action against your license. Only if you cannot prove compliance with your CE requirements will you be subject to further action against your license. Discipline will be conducted according to the licensure rules which govern your profession.
Can I have multiple people view the course?
No. Only if you have purchased group training package. Our individual courses are licensed to a single individual only.
Can I obtain a license taking your courses?
No. Our courses are for health professionals who currently have a license and need continuing education courses in order to renew their license, or who are seeking a new license in another state. However, some courses may meet your state's initial license requirements for a specific number of hours on a single topic.
Can I receive a hard copy of a course by mail?
No. All courses offered at NHI's website are internet-based only.
Can I take the course immediately after signing up?
Yes. You create a username and password as part of the registration process, so you can use that username/password immediately after payment to login and start your course.
Can I take your courses if I'm not a nurse?
Yes. Our courses are available to anyone, including students, caregivers, healthcare professionals of any designation, and the general public who are interested in the topics we offer.
Can NHI forward my certificate to my state licensing board?
Unless requested by your board, NHI does not submit certificates directly to the board. It is your responsibility to provide a copy of your certificate to the board, when necessary. All certificates should be retained for your records, based on your state board’s specifications.
Do I have to complete the course on the same day I started it?
No. You can pause a course as many times as you need to. Once you decided to stop going over the course material, simply logout. Next time you return to the course, the system will ask you if you want to continue from the page you last reviewed or from the begining of the course.
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use Pageburst?
Not at all! You can download Pageburst free desktop application onto your PC or Mac to get the full benefits of Pageburst, with or without a reliable internet connection. After you’ve downloaded your Pageburst books to your computer, you can bring your laptop with you and access your ebook at a library, coffee shop, or other spot you need to get your work done.
Do you report to CE Broker?
Yes. For your convenience, we report all approved nursing continuing education·course completions of Florida and District of Columbia license holders to the via the CE Broker system. To ensure accurate reporting and processing by CE Broker, you must include your license prefix in front of your license number, i.e., RN123456 (no spaces). If you are unsure of your license number, go to the websites below to verify your professional license information.

How and when will I recieve my certificate of completion?
After successfuly completing the course's post-test and evaluation survey, a link to your certificate of completion will appear on the course home page. By clicking on this link, your certificate will be generated as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file for you to print and/or save on your computer.
How can I get another copy of my certificate?
You can print your certificate as many times as you need for one year period, at no charge. After a year has elapsed since the date your certificate was issued, a $5.00 fee will be assessed for each certificate copy you request.
How do I become an author or instructor with NHI?

How do I purchase Pageburst?

How do I report factual errors in a lesson or exam?
We appreciate knowing what's not working or what's wrong. Send us an e-mail through the Author E-mail button within the course; This is located on the first page of every course. We review your questions before they go to the author and can follow up to be sure the error is corrected.
How does NHI create courses and programs?
National Healthcare Institute follows specific steps with every course and program we create and publish. These steps ensure that our process is thoughtful, evidence-based, quality driven and includes the following:
- A Needs Assessment is conducted to identify or confirm potential topics and gaps in knowledge for our target audience.
- The topic is assigned to a writer who extensively researches the topic.
- The course/program goal, objectives, and exam are created.
- The course/program is reviewed by an editor and is peer-reviewed for content, clinical relevance, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- The writer reviews the feedback and makes appropriate changes.
- Final instructional development and course/program design features are implemented.
- The Nurse Planner completes a final review to assure that the content is free of grammatical or content errors.
- The course/program and test are loaded into the Moodle learning management system and are then available for participants.
- Courses/programs are reviewed annually for any update in clinical content. They are revised either every two years or sooner based on new information that is available.
How long do I have to complete the course?
Unless otherwise indicated with a specific course expiration date in the course description, courses must be completed within 1 year from the date of registration.
How many contact hours does my state require to renew my license?
Contact hour requirements vary from state to state. Click on the Continuing Education Requirements link for a list of hours required by state. Continuing Education requirements change from time to time. We recommend that you contact your state licensing board for the most current information.
How many times can I view each lecture in the course?
You can enter and exit each course module as often as you would like within on year from the time you first access the course. Each time you log back in, the module will continue where you left off or you can reset it to start from the begining.
I am licensed in more than one state. Can I receive multiple certificates?
We would be happy to send you multiple certificates for the completed courses, free of charge, provided that you supply us with all license numbers needed for the certificates at the time that you enroll in your course(s) or prior to the exam being graded. There will be an extra charge of $5.00 for any additional certificates provided for licenses that you supply to us after your exam is graded.
I can’t function without my mobile device. What Pageburst got for me?
If you have an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, Pageburst have a free mobile application that syncs all your books, notes, and highlights with your Pageburst account. It works with or without an internet connection, so you know you can rely on it even if you’re in a setting without wi-fi.
I don't have my license yet. Can I take your courses?
Yes. All of our Certificates of Completion include accreditation and approval statements specific to the course you take, and the course may meet initial licensure requirements. Check with your licensing agency to confirm acceptability if you are taking the course for this purpose.
I received a Pageburst access code. How do I redeem the code?
To redeem a Pageburst Access Code follow the instructions provided on your student welcome guide. Forgot to save your welcome guide on your computer? No problem, you can find these instructions by clicking here.
If I don't pass the final exam, can I take the test again?
You can take the final exam as many times as you need to pass. This course is mainly about comprehension. There is no charge for taking the final exam multiple times. You can also take the exam again to try and get a higher score if you so desire.

What can I expect when I register for a course?
Once your order has been processed, our system will immediately generate an on-screen access instructions page along with your purchase receipt. You will also receive an e-mail with this information. We recommend that you save this email for future reference. Upon accessing our Learning Management System, your will have instant access to your course and post-test. Our convenient online grading system allows you to print your own certificate immediately upon successful completion of the course.
What exactly is Pageburst?

What happens to my Pageburst ebooks after my course is over?
Once you’ve downloaded a Pageburst book, it’s yours to keep – the text, your notes and highlights, and everything else will be available for later reference.
What if I go past the course completion date?
If the course completion date has passed, you may be able to purchase a 6-month extension for a nominal charge of 10% of the course original price. All course extentions must be approved by the Registrar's Office. You may contact the Registrar's Office by emailing your request to support@NHInstitute.com.
For courses with a specific expiration date imposed by a licensing board or accrediting body, we are not able to extend a course completion date beyond the expiration date.
Why can't I find my courses listed on CE Broker?
If you completed an online course with the passing score for your license, NHI will report to CE Broker monthly, as CE Broker requires. After we report to CE Broker, it takes them some time to post your hours on the web.
Why do you need my license number? I don't like to give it out.
Most states require that your professional license number appear on your certificate of completion. We respect your privacy and have many security measures in place to protect your personal information.
