Prevention of Medical Errors for Nurses

This essential course provides nurses with a comprehensive understanding of medical errors and how to prevent them. Participants will learn the definition of medical errors, explore different types of sentinel events, identify reportable events, and review common sentinel events in healthcare. This course equips nurses with the knowledge and tools to improve patient safety and reduce preventable errors in clinical practice.

This course meets the Florida Board of Nursing requirement that a two-hour course on preventing medical errors be completed before licensure by examination or endorsement.

The "Prevention of Medical Errors for Nurses" course is designed to help nurses understand and mitigate medical errors in healthcare. The curriculum includes:
